I have captured a video with audio in Mpeg 1 format, but the audio volume is too low. How to amplify the audio part?
My idea is using TMPGEnc to demultiplex the audio and video, then amplify the audio, but found no software can support Mp2 format. (i only tried cooledit). Any idea? Thanks!

TMPGEnc itself has the capacity to boost volume.
Go to Setting -> Advanced -> Audio Effect (double click)-> change volume: percentage increase above 100%

Sound Forge Sound Editor is a great tool for tweaking soundtracks/audio files. I recently captured a 30 minute video from VHS tape and the soundtrack had this annoying high-pitched, squeaking (VCR motor/spindles?) throughout the entire soundtrack. i edited the WAV, using Sound Forges normalize filter and experimenting with the low-pass filter settings, i was able to eliminate the squeaking entirely.
