    Hi guys 'n gals i have a big problem and its driving me mad

    I keep getting "The error occurred when acm was initialized" error when i try to encode Xvid/ac3 movie

    Ive changed the priority settings correctly having read about here but it still wont encode.

    Please can anyone help,it is really annoying me now.

  2. does the movie play on your computer?
    The weired thing is on my computer xvids play without and playing with the settings. The only things set other that 0 are directshow multimedia reader -1, avi vfw compatibility reader -2.

    you might want to try a different xvid codec. I had problems with a couple until i found one that worked good.

    Tmpg doesnt like ac3 very much. If you want to convert it. Follow this guide:

    Firstly yes it plays in all my mediaplayers fine(wmp9/zoomplayer)
    all my settings are set up ok in TMPGEnc .

    Tried saving out the audio to .wave then putting it thru headache to convert but i get a error in headache aswell

    Ive got a Xvid codec installed that seems to play Xvids but when it comes to encoding using TMPGEnc i get ACM error

    Surely theres a way round this.

    Anyone?

    Ive already got that codec installed according to G-Spot.

    Anyways, good news ive managed to encode it now

    I did have to get the movie again tho and then converted to .wav using headac3e and hey presto it works now
