Here's a confusing problem - I can't seem to cap from my DV cam. It's connected fine, and the machine controls work, but weird things happen when I capture:
In Vegas 4.0, every 2 seconds it pauses in the preview window - for about 5 seconds. It shows no dropped frames and the tape timecode clicks away like normal. But when done, the AVI is corrupt. It does this with 2 cams (Sony TRV120 and TRV110) and both 4.0 and 4.0a do it.
The DVD Workshop trial 1.3 seems to capture fine, but it's AVI is corrupt as well when I port it over to Vegas for editing.
I think this is the first I've tried to capture in Vegas 4, so I tried installing Vegas 3, which I KNOW worked before on this system - same deal. The system:
AMD AThlon XP 1800
Soltek mobo - VIA 266 chipset
512 MB RAM
2 drives - 10GB system, 80GB capture, both 7200RPM ATA66+ and defragged.
Win2k SP3
Any ideas?
