I wasn't sure what section this was for so I put it here. I am wondering if it's possible to output encoded MPEG2 files to your VCR through some type of firewire card that would convert to an analogue signal??

Will this go on to a VHS tape or would it need to be an AVI file??

The question has popped up as I was thinking of buying the ADVC100 card but then found it can't output signals to a VCR. Now I'm not sure what to buy and I'm all over the place.

  2. Hello!

I bought a advc 50 because i dont need to output analog.

    The canopus advc products rocks!

And the advc 100 CAN output to vcr. It has an analog output...

If it has to be *.avi or *.mpg i dont know.

Try sending a email to canopus about it.

    regards willy
