  1. I just got my wintv GO , it kicks asss!!! This is the best card, and its only 50 bucks!!!!! I caputre such clean 640x480 mpeg2 movie, looks just like dvd ... one small prob , there is a bzzzzz background sound , could it be because i plugged my audio left/right (white and red) into my input on soundcard instead of using the phone type jack? Could that be it, other than that it is 100% perfect, i am completely satisfied , except for that small audio prob which i think could be fixed with your advice...

I wouldn't be so sure. I had a winTV Go a while back and was limited to capture of about 352x240ish. Hauppauge said it wouldn't support higher res captures.

Nothing on the Hauppauge site leads me to think anything has changed:

My TvGo can capture at 640 x 480.

  8. rhegedus: who cares what that site says, those stupid haupauge drivers dont let u capture higher than 352x240. I know that. Thats why you download the btwincap_soundforge drivers and then u can capture up to as big as u want. I can only capture 640x480 because thats as high as my cpu can handle before it drops frames, but i can capture 720x480 and even higher but it drops frames cuz of my cpu. GET THE BTWINCAP DRIVERS, THEY RULE!!

I did that, but then the picture took on a grainy look. I was so pissed off with Gauppauge that I bought a Canopus ADVC-100 and have never looked back!

  10. I never had any problems capturing more than 384 X 288 with the original Hauppauge drivers with an old WinTV GO card with BT878 chip. VirtualDub lets me select many resolutions up to 768 x 576. I use the VfW drivers in Win2k, because WDM drivers cause more dropped frames.
