    Can the dvd recorders today pause while recording tv, like vcr's do? With my vcr I can pause during recording when a commercial comes on, and then press pause again (or record) to continue recording. With my vcr I can thus create a near perfect edit that misses none of the tv show and records none of the commercial.

    Can the dvd recorders today do this? Not talking about Timeslip. Thanks, mike
