DVD2AVI won't create AC3 file

I just got a dvd writer over the weekend and am starting to try and rip dvd to dvd-r. I have done vcd and svcds in the past but am not that experienced. I am trying to rip the movie Almost Famous. This is the tutorial I am trying to follow: http://www.vcdhelp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=109346

I start up DVD Decrypter and have it set to file mode and let it choose the main movie automatically. It rips 1 ifo and 6 vobs. The movie is about 6gb. I then open up DVD2AVI, open up the first vob file and then set all the auto options to demux. I then go to save project and let it do its thing. THe problem I am having is DVD2AVI is only creating the d2v file, its not making the ac3 file so therefore I can't go on any further. I have tried other tutorials as well and I still can't get the ac3 file to be created. Hopefully someone here can help.

Also, I use a 16x dvd-rom to do my ripping and it only rips at 2x, any ideas as to why?

have you use these settings in dvd2avi:
Track number -> 1
Channel format -> Dolby Digital
Dolby Digital -> Demux All

Some new DVD-rom's are locked 2x ripping speed... also many dvd-writers are locked to 2x ripping speed... 8)

ok well that kind of worked. now i am having the same problem as the post down a few from this one. now it created 2 ac3 files.

AC3 T02 3_2ch 448kbps DELAY 0ms.ac3

and

AC3 T03 2_0ch 192kbps DELAY 0ms.ac3

Shouldn't there be a 6ch one?

In DVD2AVI i have Dolby Digital set to Demux All Tracks and track number is set to 1.

nevermind i just read in a similar post that DVD2AVI creates to ac3 files one 3ch and one 2ch so i think that my problem is solved. will i have to merge these 2 ac3 files into one? and if so, how?

Use this one;

AC3 T02 3_2ch 448kbps DELAY 0ms.ac3

That's the DD 5.1 (or 6 channel) file. DVD2AVI just displays it as 3_2 ch to confuse you

yes if you do KNOW which track you need and if you only need one track... but that Demux ALL is much easyer way to go...
