Hi everyone,

I'm Messerpolo, the creator of MesserSub Translate, a free Windows application that translates existing text subtitle tracks and adds the translation as a new track to an MKV file.

It uses Ollama and Qwen3 locally, so videos and subtitles stay on your computer. An offline installer includes both models and all the required tools.

Main features:

• Translate a single MKV or process a whole folder of episodes unattended.
• Choose an existing subtitle track as the source. Supports SRT, ASS and SSA text tracks.
• Enter the target language freely, including regional variants.
• Choose between Qwen3 4B for better translation quality and Qwen3 1.7B for computers with fewer resources.
• Review subtitles side by side, with the original text in one column and an editable translation in the other. Save your changes before creating the final MKV.
• Export the original subtitles with their timings, then import a translation produced manually or with another AI service.
• Preserve existing tracks and add the translated track using MKVToolNix, without re-encoding the video or audio.
• Resume interrupted translations using saved progress.
• Switch the interface between English and Spanish.

The application requires an existing text subtitle track; it does not transcribe audio or perform OCR on image-based subtitles. Translation quality varies by language and model, so manual review is recommended.
