@sp4rk.y - we are pirates FFS; we break the rules! And if you think making your members sign that gives you a get-out-of-jail-free-card, it doesn't.

It's just basic disclaimer to not get the server in trouble. Devine also had a variation of it. There is a reason services were never shipped with either of them. Discord isn't exactly piracy friendly and separating the legal from the illegal is just common sense.

On the other hand sp4rky is working for zane, a very well known API seller and a lot of the functionality were specifically designed for his paid services. An adde benefit to forbidding discussions of services is that it probably leads new customers his way. Unshackle on it's own is still open to anyone but the zane businiess puts a big stain on the whole thing.

I told him this some time ago. In response he claimed he has never taken any money. Yeah, of course he hasn't!
And I don't see the rules as a disclaimer. A disclaimer would say something like 'We do not condone ...' , but they have made a set of rules to agree to uphold. That is a little different, prissy and unnecessary.

Even if he hasn't taken any money directly there are other ways to get paid. Unshackle is pretty much completely vibe coded with claude and for a project this size that's super expensive. I wouldn't be surprised if zane is paying those bills along with free access to his api.

But in the end he's free to do whatever he wants. Unshackle is still actively maintained and open to everybody so I guess there's no real harm. Yet...

And that's the kicker that I think people don't really get. Anyone with a basic knowledge can now put that to use and develop their own scripts fairly easily. And by doing so, totally remove their dependence on someone else's project.

I just wanted to write that Unshackle works much better for me now that I have it set in the .yaml to download the video first then move on to the audio, subtitles and chapters.

On my older computer I have upgraded to the newest version of Unshackle and so far it is working fine. I had to dig further into the file system to get Unshackle set up and adapt my .yaml to where folders are now.

In the folder section: if series has no year to add to the title to produce the folder name, the folder name gets left with a trailing space. Windows will throw a path error.

They well might but, your rule 2 specifically says they must follow a services EULA - you do not limit the scope to just your discord - it applies globally.

Users must sign to never break a services EULA. Period.

If a user has signed on to your discord they cannot, and keep their integrity intact, discuss any service and how to download from it anywhere.

In plain English, to follow your rule 2 is never to download or discuss the downloading of a video from any service.

You make liars of all your 661 sign-ups. And you waste your time because unshackle becomes unusable by definition for your discord users.

If you wish to keep users away from discussing services use something like "Do not discuss ...." Just like Baldrick does at the first post in these stickies. Simple and far less draconian..

I'm testing Unshackle v5.3.0 with the NF service and I'm getting this error:

manifest/playapi-ADS_STREAM_LEVEL_REQUEST_DISALLOWED:
Stream level request for serving ads is no longer supported [viewableId=82074177]

Authentication works correctly:
- Widevine CDM loads
- MSL handshake successful
- Authenticated with Service
- Metadata loads

I tested multiple titles and get the same result.

Is this related to a recent Netflix change or does the NF service need an update?

It loads fine from the UK. So it is the VPN. If your browser works, I suggest you connect to the VPN manually before you start envied so you use the same connection your browser does rather than using envied's proxy vpn

If you have issues with Unshackle itself ask on the discord.

The unshackle repo owner clearly states the app does not come with services.

If you have issues with the individual services you are not permitted to ask there for legal reasons, so you'll need to contact the person you downloaded your services from and ask for an update. Or update it yourself.

Actually when I upgraded to the latest Unshackle on my newer Mini PC I have had more success with ITV.
