Hello, helpppppp
I used DVD decrypter/IFO edit. Plays fine on the PC, so I believe it ripped fine. Using A04 DVD-r with the firmware upgraded and the latest Nero version 5.5.9.6 I was getting communication error, but cured that by turning off DMA. Now, it starts to burn, and will stall at various %'s complete (25%,13% 33%). Program doesnt lock up, just stops burning, no errors. What did burn will play in PC DVD player. I did read on Nero's site about Via busmaster driver problems. Any ideas anyone?
Thanks in advance,
B.

	Update,
It must be nero's fault. I burned an image(made with DVD Decryptor) today using Ulead Movie Factory, and it worked fine in both PC and on Apex stand alone. I am using IFOEdit,DVDImage/DLT Builder to make an image out of larger movies stripped to VOB's etc. An easier way? This seems to be taking a while.
 Thanks

try downloading the latest Nero (5.5.9.17)... www.ahead.de
or if its necessary download the latest via drivers.. www.viaarena.com
or maybe try another burning prog like RecordnowMax, Prassi, DVDGearPro.. good luck

	Thanks marscable,
Well I do have the latest nero. Actually newer than the one you said, it is 5.5.9.6, and it is the problem. I found that movie factory will actully burn to dvd, but I have tyo make an image 1st. I will hunt down some other burn software so I can try and skip the make image part. I am 3 for 3 working now, so I hate to experiment too much more and go back to making coasters like when I started.

I used to have a A03 and used to use Nero 5.5.5.0 and that was that, as I upgraded Nero the coasters started, at first I thought it was the media as I was using really cheap media, but then when I was doing coasters on my Apple media which previosuly had been pretty much coaster free, I figured it might be the Nero. I pulled the drive nad installed to my other rig, reformatted and installed latest Nero along with a clean OS ( Windows 2000 service pack 2 ). I was still making coasters ( about 50% rate ). So I figure it might be cooling, that wasn't it, so then I switched to Record Max now 4.0. It seem to do better than Nero, but I evetually ditched the A03 and got a A04. so far with Record Now Max and new 2x cheap media I had a real good track record ( no coaster yet in 10 burns ). All burns have been at 2x and vobs were either 1:1 DVD Decryptor ripped (v 3130... under the 4.3 Gb mark ) or re encoded with TMPEGEnc ( v 2.52.34.129 to a m2v file ) and merged with the AC3 ( extracted n framserved with DVD2AVI v 1.76 ) and then authored in DVD Workshop v 1.3.

So far ithis has been a winning combo. Once I get the hang of CCE I might switch over to it for my encodes.
