  1. I have Pinn Studio and Dazzle v.23.2.4

The dazzle is DVC100 and is black with a blue light on it

In the Dazzle programme I cannot get sound

S video and composite are connected to a Sony Digital8 camcorder dcr-trv265e and only work on the S-video input in Dazzle

    Am I missing drivers ?

In Device manager the Audio driver is dated 04/25 for the DVC100

And the video driver is dated 10/20

Historically, I remember reading there could be a driver issue

    Any help appreciated !

  2. Neither s-video nor composite video carries sound. You need to connect the audio outputs of the camcorder to the capture device.

  3. Thanks

The composite cable has 3 connectors - the red and white I thought carried L & R sound....

  4. Yes, the red and white connectors are audio, the yellow connector composite video. You didn't mention connecting the red/white cables to the DVC100 previously.

  5. dcr-trv265e doesn't have RCA connectors for component video and L/R audio.
You need a special A/V cable with 3.5 mm jack on one end and 3 RCA connectors on the other. It will carry those 3 signals.

No, not a driver issue. How are you determining there's no audio? There are two types of DV files, one with explicit video and audio streams, the other with a single stream that's marked as video but also includes the audio. Many programs don't see the audio in the second type and I suspect that is what you have. Which type you get is determined by the capture software.

Using the black dazzle, I can get a picture in Pinn Studio for Dazzle 23.2.4 and record it, but on playback on the computer there is no sound

The drop down menu to choose Composite or S-Video import only gets a signal on S-Video - even though only the white, red and yellow leads are connected to the camera and Dazzle ????

    Here is the Audio input:
