  1. Trying to get hamiltons pharmacopeia for a friend as high quality as I can get. Yes I can use windows capture with the subs but I want to give this a try. Getting actual video from vice isn't hard. They use JW player and with the network monitor in firefox console, getting the m3u8 file is easy. The final output contains 2-3 sub tracks, and none of them show actual text.

There is an attempt to get a .vtt file but it's 404. Still the subs show in the web. I even did a text search in each video file for keywords. Not sure if they're in plain text or not.

Yes, you have to have a streaming/cable service subscription to view the videos

    TIA

  3. It does make the SRT, but vlc fails to even load the video when it's there. What are you using to make the final output? I'm using m3u8x

ok I converted it to a mkv with toolnix and put the srt in the folder and the subs are messed up. I think the program that joins the segments is causing this (m38ux). Btw that episode is not S1E1

  5. I think I see what it's doing, though I see no way around it. The video has two Closed Captioned streams. I think it plays one text above the other at the same time.

One of the two closed captions is okay and the other is wrong, or the two of them are wrong?

  7. the SRT that gets extracted is "Closed captions 1". This displays at the same time (when there is two caption lines) as "Closed captions 2" which displays under it

I should have been more specific: the second picture with the captions is a screenshot of it playing FROM THE WEBSITE. As it should.

I think what they're going for, is instead of combining a larger black bar with two upper/lower texts, is trying to block less visual area by separating it into an upper and lower texts separately. By having Captions 1 on top and Captions 2 on bottom. Though the Extractors only so far just extracts captions 1
