now it's just plain m3u8 which you don't need keys.

Yes. The latest version. Initially, it told me it was incompatible : An error occurred trying to start process 'C:\Users\***\Documents\Video Downloading\widefrog_v2_1_0_windows\shaka-packager.exe' with working directory 'C:\Users\*****\Documents\Video Downloading\widefrog_v2_1_0_windows'. The specified executable is not a valid application for this OS platform.

Then i downloaded the latest version. After that it gave me this error with the decryption.

Edit : I got this shaka-packager for windows 64 bit : packager-osx-x64

Maybe I need this one : packager-win-x64.exe

Hi all, this is the release of my newest creation: WidevineProxy2.
A browser extension for Chrome/Firefox that intercepts challenges/licenses right after/before EME. Its Widevine implementation is completely JavaScript based (huge thanks to node-widevine), easy to use and works almost any browser-based service.

Widevine Devices
This addon requires a Widevine Device file to work, which is not provided by this project.

Compatibility
+ Compatible (tested) browsers: Firefox/Chrome on Windows/Linux.
+ Works with any service that accepts challenges from Android devices on the same endpoint.

Installation
+ Chrome
‎1. Download this repository as a ZIP file
2. Navigate to `chrome://extensions/`
3. Enable `Developer mode`
4. Click `Load unpacked` and the select downloaded file

+ Firefox
+ Persistent installation
1. Download the XPI file from the releases section
2. Navigate to `about:addons`
3. Click the settings icon and choose `Install Add-on From File...`
4. Select the downloaded file

+ Temporary installation
1. Download this repository as a ZIP file
2. Navigate to `about:debugging#/runtime/this-firefox`
3. Click `Load Temporary Add-on...` and select the downloaded file

Setup
+ Once installed, open the extension, click `Choose File` and select your Widevine Device file.
+ The files are saved in the extension's `chrome.storage.sync` storage and will be synchronized across any browsers into which the user is signed in with their Google account.
+ Due to the sync storage limit of 100KB, the maximum amount of installable of devices at the same time is ~30.
+ Check `Enabled` to activate the message interception and you're done.

Usage
All the user has to do is to play a DRM protected video and the decryption keys should appear in the `Keys` group box (if the service is not unsupported, as stated above).
Keys are saved:
+ Temporarily until the extension is either refreshed manually (if installed temporarily) or a removal of the keys is manually initiated.
+ Permanently in the extension's `chrome.storage.local` storage until manually wiped or exported via the command line.
Note: The video will not play when the interception is active, as the Widevine CDM library isn't able to decrypt the Android CDM license.
+ Click the `+` button to expand the section to reveal the PSSH and keys.

Issues
+ DRM playback won't work when the extension is disabled and EME Logger is active. This caused by my fix for dealing with EME Logger interference (solutions are welcome).

Thank you for making this terrific program. I appreciate it being a Firefox Add On. It has come in quite handy for me. Sometimes though I think it would be nice if it could also spit out the M3u8DL-RE command for videos that are not encrypted as well.

Stream detector addon already does that. You can select the program as well: n_m3u8dl-re, yt-dlp, ffmpeg, etc

Yes, but if I deactivate the extension, then when playing the content it does not detect the url or anything, so it does not get the keys and such.

How do I ensure that there is no conflict and the content is reproduced to obtain the url, pssh, keys, etc...?

It ended up being so much work, I gave up. I'm not sure this addon can manage the issues.

Just want to thank you for such nice extension!
Before that I've used WidevineFetch for key searching + mpd link. This one is ALL-IN-ONE!
Now, one small question.....I'm using CMD function, and I'm just wondering if there is function
to skip "quality video" question/list? i.e. when i paste CMD function in CMD Prompt and press enter
then I got list of all resolutions and highest is already selected so I have to press enter to start download.
So, is there some function which I can add to that CMD function from extension to bypass resolution
list? To automatically download in highest resolution?

edit: found solution (if anyone need) --select-video best (it comes after mpd link in cmd function)
but you have to add also: --select-audio all (if you don't add this one, video will be downloaded
automatic but without sound). Sorry for inconvenience.

Is it possible to add a key merging feature based on manifest? For example if a site uses 2 different license requests for video/audio, and those 2 keys are for the same manifest (identical url), you could generate only 1 row instead of 2 key rows. Because if there's 2 rows then you have to take the keys and add them to the other command.

On TubiTV I ran across when it comes to "Tremors: The Series" when I launch the browser WidevineProxy2 can get the Nm3U8DL-RE command for the episode I selected and I can download the video. When it has done that when I click on the next episode WidevineProxy2 doesn't sense it no matter how how often I click on refresh. The only thing that works is closing the browser and coming back to the website and then clicking on the episode than WidevineProxy2 has the Nm3U8DL-RE command. Thankfully thus far this is a rare thing and this particular series with another streaming download program that program says no files exist to download.
