Depends what model you are talking about, Not all output VHS via HDMI.

	Yeah the output from the HDMI port on them is the same as what goes out the analog outputs. It does however require that whatever they are connected to supports HDCP, so you can't connect that directly to a capture card, you will need something like a hdmi splitter (that skips it) to get around it.
