Should I do source range using TMPGEnc or should I cut into two files using Virtual Dub then convert both.
What I have been doing is cutting with virtual and then extracting wavs for each and encoding with TMPG
Thanks

I'm no expert, but my opinion is that if you would like to apply VirtualDub filters on the captured file, then it would save space on your hard disk to frameserve directly to TMPGEnc instead of creating new AVI files. But if you do not wish to apply any VirtualDub filters, then it's easier to select the source range directly from TMPGEnc.
Hope this helps. -
In my humble opinion, using TMPGE has always been far more successful(for me ...anyway).
I always have sync issues when I use Vdub for that purpose.
The good thing is ,if you use TMPGE to encode using source range for the split and use the Project Save and Batch Encode functions ,TMPGE does it all for you .
ie: Large DIVX in > 2 Smaller ready for burning VCD's out"Today is only yesterdays tomorrow"
