When I use VirtualDub to add subtitles when I convert a DivX to VCD and set Frameserve on everything goes well.
But when I try to open the .vdr dummy with TMPGEnc it says "Unable to open or onsupported format".
What can I do? I tried everything what was on the site but nothing happened.
I use Win98.
Thanks

In TMPG, Env Settings , VFAPI, what number is beside the VD script reader? Try rasing up to 3 or 4.
Direct Show MM file reader
Avisynth/ Virtual Dub script reader
Avi2(OpenDML) File reader
Avi VFW Compatibil reader
TMPGEnc Proj File reader
Wave file reader
DVD2AVI Project file reader
BMP …reader -
make sure your vdr file ends with an avi evtension something like file.vdr.avi

There's no such option in TMPGenc Environmental settings for an AVISynth/VirtualDub Script reader! Where have you got that one from!
Do you mean the AVI VFW compatibility reader? -

Watch out for Read_avs.dll. Copy it to the VFAPI or to the TMPG directory and edit the reg file. Then play around with the priorities, set AVISynth/VirtualDub Script reader to highest priority or uncheck all the others or ???. I can not give a really good advice since I never change the priorities and TMPGEnc will accept the *.vdr files. -
Hmmm, this doesn't help me much.
I tried all things which are on the author section on problems.
But none of them seems to work.
Isn't there another way of making permanent subtitles without frameserving?
Thanks,
Gonadan.
