Hi,
i want sync persian subtitles from English subtitles. i use workshop. it works for me but it does not support Unicode languages and i need change subtitles from unicode to ANSI. but some letters change to (?) and i must check them manually.
i tried Subtitle Edit (point sync via other subtitles...) but it was not good like workshop.
why workshop does not support unicode languages yet? is it available another software like subtitle workshop that supports Unicocde languages?

I’m not sure I quite understand the problem but see if this will work
Load your English subtitle into SubtitleEdit,
Under Tools, select ‘Make new empty translation from current subtitle’
Save the file. This will give you a *.SRT file with just timings.
Try using that in SubtitleWorkshop to sync your Persian subtitle.
I’ve never tried it so I can’t say what the output will be.
I assume both subtitle need to have the same number of lines.
Good luck -
i have problem with subtitle workshop to load Unicode languages like persian/farsi. it supports Ansi ONLY. i must open subtitle with notepad and save it Ansi Encoding.
subtitle Edit support unicode subtitles but timing with it did not match good like subtitle workshop. I would love to be able to transfer the English timings to the persian subtitles Exactly.Last edited by sunny; 10th Feb 2018 at 05:15.

I think I found a way to do what you want, no promises.
Load your Persian subtitle into SubtitleEdit
Click File > Import time codes...
Select your English subtitle and see if that dies what you want.
I did a test with a couple of ten line subtitles and it changed the timings to the imported subtitle without changing the dialogue. -
Import time codes from another subtitles in SE works if it has the same numbers of subtitles which would surprise if that's the case here.
i tried Subtitle Edit (point sync via other subtitles...) but it was not good -
If the subtitles have different number of lines SE will prompt you to continue or not.
So, if you import 8 lines onto 10 lines only the first 8 lines will be changed.
If you import 10 lines onto 8 then all 8 lines will be changed.
