I tried the free trial version (Downloaded early Sept 2002) of Ulead DVD Movie Factory but it kept crashing to the desktop when I put multiple chapters (2-3) in the menu for DVD creation. All other programs are stable as a rock on my computer. Please offer advice……..

    Particulars:

I create my home movies (Cannon Optura PI camera) with Premier 6.0 to AVI, render them in TMPGEnc V. 2.5.44.152 to MPEG-2 using the same settings (exception being I select video+ audio as the stream type) suggested in the tutorial supplied by http://pwp.netcabo.pt/0165394101/TMPGEnc_Template.html

I use Nero 5.5.9.9 for burning archive files and make use of the Sonic MyDVD 3.5 supplied with the Pioneer DVD 104 drive to burn my movies for viewing. The movies play just fine on my Pioneer DV-440 and Mintek 1600 DVD players.

My system basics are ABIT KG-7 Raid, AMD XP 1.7, 1 Gig Crucial ECC 2100
DDR, ASUS V7700 GeForce 32mb video, drives include C:40Gig IBM 75GXP, D:WD 110 Gig BB model and E:WD 120 Gig BB model. Also use the Plextor 16/10/40, 1394 card supplied with Studio DV and the OS is Win 2000 Pro.

    Answer to my own question………

A few weeks later while in a computer superstore, I purchased the retail box of Ulead MovieFactory Version 1.0 on impulse hoping it would be different. The retail version works fine on my computer. Now that I see how the chapters work on my DVD player, I stand corrected on the terminology of “chapters”. Those chapters are really entry points. The entry points don’t single out a section of video. They just allow you to begin playing a movie from the point where you have placed an entry point.

So I don’t know if the free trial version had a glitch or I just made a bad download.
