    Yeah, I saw that.

And you have NO filters going, right?

It's happening exactly at 2:00. That's more than coincidence I think. Is anything special about 2:00?

    Maybe YT did that?

Lol. No basically it's a big complex mess! But easy to sort out.

Each layer in AE is 1:40 long, but they're made up of shorter clips looped until they hit 1:40. So you get sudden changes in lighting/people position etc.

And I can't see them in AE because they were already rendered out of AE and I don't have those comps anymore. So I have to scrub through until I spot any changes.

Basically, it's fixable, let's leave it at that!

Sounding quite good with the sound fx in, going to put music in then I'll upload another version.

  5. I wouldn't fiddle with it now because of your deadline, but yes, you could do the rotation in AE . But you will potentially encounter the same problems in AE as Premiere (in terms of the corners)

I can't decide which I like better, the standard or rotation... You could even rotate each layer/video differently if you wanted to in AE

There still seems to be some speeding up / slowing down in sections for the zoom. Is that intended ?

Yeah, I'm not sure how that happens. The intervals are all 22 seconds each (well 22 seconds and 12 frames). Each interval is set at the point where the next ring begins, but it seems to ramp up as it gets closer to each one.

Blame it on the projector when you show it. (if anyone notices - 1/million chance)

FWIW, it happens on both tracks so it's global. Whatever it is. If you flip frames back and forth at the precise moment, you can see the inner video tree branches change.

That certainly qualifies as an anomaly. I D/L'd the file from YT and it happened at a different time, but close, so the YT time isn't frame accurate.

Oh great lol. What time is the tree branch change? It's no anomaly, it's just the way it's set up, each shot doesn't last long enough so it repeats, and I've done my best to hide the repeat moments. Obviously not well enough lol.

It almost looks like you have some sort of weird keyframe interpolation going on there or the curve isn't quite right

It's tough to get it right because your scaling per step is exponential (again, 500,000% !!!!, wow) . When you have time , check the curve editor and keyframe interpolation as well

There is probably an AE expression you could apply to the scale that could get it perfect, given the w x h of each layer, the timebase, the number of frames, and scaling percentage, but its way beyond my math skills or AE skills

Don't let PeeDeeAaar beg off like that. He's an expert in AE.

But that's one of the issues with the whole Adobe line, that you just don't ever feel you have full control over any given project. All of a sudden, a blip like that pops up out of the woodwork, and you're standing there holding an empty bag with no recourse.

Peed is right that you should check the interpolation curve and set all to SMOOTH, or whatever is the finest increment. Ideally TWO keyframes ONLY, set to smooth, is ideal.

It's definitely not the video itself.

Don't repeat then, use retime. Or cut all the times to a common denominator that handles all. Or put a double ramp in the cross-fade to blend it across more frames?

Doesn't retime slow it down though?

Slows the motion, but extends the time. That's OK. There's no reference to time in the clip itself. Nobody knows what it's "supposed" to look like.

You can prerender that short clip to 60p, then retime it, then render it back to 15. 15 is a multiple of 60, so it should be smoother.

TechTalk: Inflate it, do your edits, then shrink it back.

Man, this forum is full of revisionist historians, I'm turning into one too. I refreshed this page 4 times and you've added 4 edits to that post lol! What time does the branch change?

Oh, I get what you mean about the branch now, it happens at the same time as the brightness change. Except it doesn't, I think you're seeing things .

Hey, I just got notified that Xmas vacashion is bumped up to tomorrow, so I'm on sabbatical then. You'll have to fly out of the nest and try to wing it with the big dogs. hahaha

    Merry Xmas to All

How do I sort this? When I set it to to two keyframes, one at 0:00 and one at 3:00, it goes really slowly until the end.

  20. It appears you've managed to insert an extra keyframe into each of your clips with some sort of bezier interpolation.

I would suggest you go the route of stacking your layers in a single, spatially static, image and then using a camera layer to zoom all the way through. Linear interpolation of keyframes is the easiest way to set up your moves and then you can add bezier and additional keyframes as you see fit.

All over my head! This is how it's set up, it's the complete pre-comp with the keyframing on top, so that isn't affecting each layer is it, just the entire thing, aka a static image?

No need to use multiple keyframes then. Just a start and end.

Yeah that's what I thought, but it seems to go really slow until the last 20 seconds where it zooms through it. Maybe just a scrubbing issue and it's actually working fine?

Then try what I suggested in #141 with a camera. Here's a sample (took all of 3 minutes, but I didn't use masks):

I've put a camera layer into the pre-comp, just as the first layer, will that have the same effect?

Yes. As long as 3d is enabled, the camera can actually be any layer.

edit: By cycling through the camera tool "c" you can manually manipulate zoom, position and rotaion.

Ok, how can I see how changes to the camera are effecting the rest of the comp?

If you've got the 3d cube on for each layer, and the camera layer placed somewhere in the comp, and you're using "c" to cycle through your camera options, and you move your mouse -- it should show up on the screen.
