  1. "Melodious - Tom 4-3 Avisynth.mpg" looks the same AR wise as the avs script (when encoded with 4:3 flags). Whether or not that's the "correct" one is debatable . Anyways most people won't notice a 1% difference eitherway, and people who don't care about distorted titles probably won't care about slightly off AR either

No blurry compression issues and missing details like the one previous - don't know what went wrong with that one

Then tied the audio to it later. If you're thinking of a single resize to get all the shots in the same AR, it won't work. It's a case of the sadistic creator tying together titles and video chunks of different AR and not giving a damn about the results. I'm with manono: this is just sloppy work. If I were handed stuff like this for my business, I'd refuse to pay for it. It doesn't take hard work to use an expensive NLE to screw up video.
That's just an insane amount of extra leg work considering there are 22 videos in total. Maybe if they gave me another grand. I don't know.
Not really. Once you have the main title and logo, just re-use it. And once you figure out how the original creators screwed up the other titles (they were all screwed up the same way), there's not much to it; you have to resize everything anyway. It's easier and faster (and cleaner) with lossless media in Avisynth than it is in an NLE.

I'd ask for more $$ and more time. I do the same with my PC repair clients. And, yes, I've turned down business -- especially when I know (a) anyone else who sees bad work won't call or recommend me anyway, and (b) quite often, doing it the wrong way means I'll have to back up my guarantee by doing it again or fixing it later, at my own time and cost.

But I realize this is a special case. The client seems as clueless as the people who ripped them off, which I guess is why rug salesmen don't make videos on the side, and movie makers don't sell rugs.

So that was a .WMV file? Ah-ha. I thought it was an mpeg, hehehe, so I had to go back and erase everything I understood up to that point, then re-gear-up again.

So if a salesman is wearing a rug, that's a red flag. Now THAT's something new you don't hear every day.
