Can you post a picture of your remote with the buttons showing? Philips is pretty good about building consumer friendly players but a remote control without numbers seems very unfriendly to me. I'd just like to see what it looks like.

It's unusual, but Philips does make a few players that can't be made region free. Maybe yours is one of them. I've hacked a few Philips players and you always have to be able to enter numerical sequences to do the job.

If the command doesn't require any of the 'special' buttons, you might be able to enter it with a universal remote. If you have access to any other Phillips DVD player remotes (yours, a friend's or relative's, etc.), you can also try seeing if they'll work at all with your player.

Holy crap! A new low for Philips with that remote

Philips has clearly changed the remote that used to come with this model based on the thread below
    https://forum.videohelp.com/threads/323722-Philips-DVP3560-region-code-hack-question

I want to warn you that there is some chance that you'll never be able to unlock this. Philips may have made other changes to the player that will keep the hack from ever working, even if you get a remote with numbers. I'd suggest trying Ai Haibara's suggestions and be prepared for an unhappy ending. If you can't get anything to work, try bitching at Philips customer service in New Zealand. We've heard rumors over the years that things are different in NZ and Australia and sometimes manufacturers will provide unlock information for those markets when they won't for any other place.

Have been looking for this region hack for sometime now.
Am in NZ and have the Remote with no numbers and this works...

Did need to press the Next Chapter & Prev Chapter buttons a few times but it definitely works!
