how to rip the dvd ????

Hello everyone, i need to rip the given dvd. im using windows xp developing in vb .net.... i searched in this forum n found the link for dvd rippin using vstrip from the following link

i read tat this vstrip.exe works n command line also... i tried working with this vstrip but couldn't succeed it i couldn't run this .exe can any one tell me how it works ???? n how to pass the inputs to it ????? i found help in vstrip download but i couldn't manage with tat details.... if any one using this r know abt this plz tell me how to use it n pass the input to it n get the output.... thanks for any replies....

Forget about that ancient software....and forget about "command line" stuff.
If it is a DVD of a movie, use DVDFabDecrypter to rip the entire DVD to your computer(a "rip" is an exact copy of the DVD....no compression to make it smaller).

Thanks for ur quick reply to my thread.... saw the link posted by u hech54. but i couldn't understand how its been used... i dnt get any opensource for it.... just got an installation file to install it in PC can u explain lil more clearly how can it be used ??? thanks for any replies..

Actually i dnt ask for any softwares or setup file... i just wanted any open source code for doin this or is there any .exe file to do this job(ripping) exactly... this is wat vstrip does..... but i couldn't manage how the inputs r given to tat vstrip..... tats the prob... tats y i posted here... r if there any open source .exe for DVDFabDecrypter for ripping???? thanks for any replies....

still we have a problem with our conversation bro... . i dnt ask for any free software to rip any dvd's..... ill explain u clearly wat im trying to do actually... im trying to add a ripping feature for my product bro...... for tat i ned any open source code or any .exe file to do tat work bro not setup file..... im getting only the setup file from the link u specified..... i agree its free but how tat setup ill help me to do my task ???? im asking for any dvd ripping tool or open source bro..... can u get me ??? thanks for any replies..

Hello used the link which u specified bjs n tried for ripping the dvd which contain the movie when i inserted the dvd i found nearly 5 to 10 ifo files and also many vob files... as described in the guide u specified i did all the steps....

C:\Documents and Settings\New\My Documents\Downloads>vstrip H:\VIDEO_TS\VTS_01_1
.VOB -iH:\VIDEO_TS\VTS_01_0.IFO -p0 -oF:\kathir.vob


the above command converts and gives me the o/p .vob file not the full movie just only the few min video which was in the vstrip H:\VIDEO_TS\VTS_01_1.VOB which was given.... so i tried givin only the ifo file as below..

C:\Documents and Settings\New\My Documents\Downloads>vstrip -iH:\VIDEO_TS\VTS_0
1_0.IFO -p0 -oF:\shivatest.vob

but it fails to rip.... now im pretty confused how can i get the full movie... these are my following questions


1) wat is the command to rip the given dvd ( movie )n get a single output file...(if tat dvd contains one movie)
2) if the dvd contains 4 movies then how to rip the movies individually ????

First make Your DVD to a ISO file......................

Then Use the FairUse wizard
