I've got an AC3 file which, when played, has a distinct hissing noise in the background. Is there a way I can get rid of or reduce this?

  2. you might be able to improve it; most audio editors will have hiss removal or generic noise removal functions

    e.g.

If you want more specific advice, post a sample and someone will help you out

Audacity claims to support AC3 files, yet when I attempt to open the file with Audacity, it tells me it doesn't support that format. Is there a plugin I need or something?
