  1. Hi all,
I'm using Sony Vegas pro 8.0, this is the first editor I've ever used, for awhile I was doing fine but all the sudden vegas keeps rendering the entire timeline instead of the clips in the timeline, I have a 8 minute movie and I have the loop region set to 8 minutes, and when I click render I have loop region only checked, but it just keeps rendering forever and the elapsed time goes way past 8 minutes, what am I missing? It was working fine before, how do I restore setting to default and then load a project without it loading the bad setting again? Or how do I stop it from rendering to long?
    thanks

Usually clicking "Render loop region only" under "Render as" gets what you want. Try toggling the button off, render some, then on.

Do you mean it's taking way longer than 8 minutes, or is your concern that areas outside of the loop region are being rendered?

It might be "normal" for it taking longer than 8 minutes to render depending if you have an older computer, use effects, HD vs SD footage, multiple passes vs. 1 pass etc...

I mean that areas outside the loop region are being rendered even though I have loop region only checked when I click render as. For example I have the loop region set to 8 seconds but it will render to 20 minutes

  7. I did some tests, when I uncheck the loop region only box and render it only renders whatever clips are there and then automatically stops, so I rendered a couple like that then I checked the loop region only box, but when I click the loop region only box and render it does the opposite it renders way beyond the loop region it just keeps going.

I've never seen that. There could be a preferences setting that affects this.

    Worse case, re-install the program.

Certainly not something I have experienced with Vegas Pro 8. Are you running the latest build - 8.0c ?
