I have Sony Vegas Pro 8.0c, but it just won't encode audio to MP3. When I select the MPEG Layer 3 codec, I can't select any attributes. It just says "No supported formats". So I installed LAME MP3 encoder ACM, but whenever I try to render the finished video, it gives me an error message saying there was an error while opening the codec.
Does anybody know how to fix that?

I'm using Vegas Movie Studio HD 9.0 and still have the exact same issue. Anyone knows what's going on? All the other codecs are low bit rate.

Vegas Pro 9 works
You may need to reactivate. I have to do that every so often with SoundForge.

^ I can do the procedure shown in the pic above, as in saving audio only as type "mp3 audio". But what I'm talking about is saving as type "Video for Windows" then use a custom template to choose the audio format. In that case, "MPEG Layer-3" has attributes "No supported formats" only.
What people seem to be doing is saving as PCM then open up VirtualDub to encode into mp3. This is a redundant step that shouldn't be needed if Vegas enabled mp3 encoding.Last edited by shun; 20th Jul 2010 at 19:46.

I'm reading that this is a limitation of the trial version, and that the full version will have it.
