  1. Hi all,

I've been using Fairuse to rip dvd's to avi, it has worked fine until now, but now something is wrong. It keeps saying "muxing error" when it comes to merge mp3/avi w. vdubmod.

I tried to download VirtualDubMod_1_5_10_2_b2542, full package, when I run the VirtualDubMod.exe nothing happens at all, it shows up in task manager, but thats all? Its driving me crazy, i tried many version, none of them starts up, it just stays in the task manager.. hrrm

Anyone that has a good idea how i can get it to work? ps: im using win7 x64

Are you sure you've downloaded the whole package? If the archive contains only the main .exe and one or two other files, it's the 'upgrade' version.

If you've downloaded the 'full' version, make sure you extract everything with the full folder structure intact. VirtualDubMod insists on a number of components being present, in certain locations.

I'm using the version available from VideoHelp's Tools page for VirtualDubMod under Vista x64, with no problems. It should theoretically work on Win7 x64, but, of course, I can't make any guarantees. Where are you placing it? You're not setting it up as a folder within any of the Program Files directories, or the desktop, are you?

  8. I have three versions of VirtualDubMod (1.5.4.1, 1.5.10.1, 1.5.10.2) and all of them run fine from Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit. They are all located on a mapped network share, G:\Program files\VirtualDubMod... No special settings. Ie, they are not running in XP compatibility mode, or "XP Mode" emulation.

Does that include the version installed with AutoGK? :P

CreazioN: If it's worked until recently, have you installed any new 32-bit codecs/DirectShow filters or video-related programs?
Just to be sure, you might also download the current version of VirtualDub (the 32-bit version) and see if that has similar problems.

  10. I just downloaded VirtualDubMod from the direct link here at VideoHelp

    https://www.videohelp.com/download/VirtualDubMod_1_5_10_2_b2542.zip

extracted the folder to the Desktop and ran the program. It worked fine.

I would try deleting the registry entries:
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Freeware\VirtualDubMod
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\VirtualDub.org
