I have searched the forums and am yet to find it... Sorry if it already is.
Ok,
So, to setup I run an HDMI splitter from my Xbox 360. From there I run an HDMI cable from the splitter to my TV's HDMI 'IN' and also to the Intensity pro HDMI 'IN'. From the Intensity Pro I run an HDMI cable from the Intensity Pro's HDMI 'OUT' to my laptops HDMI 'IN'.
Is the above true in where to run my cables etc?
From my laptop do I run Blackmagic Media express or programs of the like?
Thanks for your help. Please respond quickly

P.S - My laptop's specs are as follows:
Windows 7 64bit,
Intel Core i7 Q740 @ 1.73GHz,
6GB RAM,
1TB HDD, ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5870.
Try StreamFab Downloader and download from Netflix, Amazon, Youtube! Or Try DVDFab and copy Blu-rays!

The Intensity Pro is a PCIe card. You can't use it with a laptop. Your laptop's HDMI port is an output, not an input.
-
Ok then, what other HDMI capture cards can be used?
Simple and easy to use. Can you also point me to a tutorial on how to setup as well?
Cheers

If your laptop has a USB3 port you might be able to use the BlackMagic Intensity Shuttle. Otherwise, I'm not aware of any HDMI capture devices that will work in a laptop. The BlackMagic Intensity and Avermedia AVerTV HD DVR require a PCIe slot -- generally only available on desktops.
You can use the Hauppauge HD PVR to captuer HD component output from the Xbox 360. But you'll need a second display that accepts component input (ie, HDTV) because there's a ~1 second lag between the game and what you see on the computer monitor.

skinnyrabbit,
Where exactly is the BMIP? You seem to be all right until you mention a laptop...Have a good one,

How/where do you have your BMIP installed.
- 360 to splitter, check
- splitter to TV, check
- splitter to BMIP in, check
This should be all you need, but, then you:
- BMIP out, to laptop? Why?Have a good one,

I've got it now. He's just got the card sitting on his desk and simply daisy chaining the cables. How silly of me...

That's what I was gonna do neomaine. I'm so sorry i'm not as nerdy as you are... Let me bow down...
-
I was actually kidding. But, now that you know your place...
Were you really going to have a PCIe card laying on your desk not installed in a desktop and expect it to work? Sorry, but, you kinda deserved that one. Chalk it up to a learning experience.
If you don't have a desktop and only a laptop then you'll need an external device. I've never used one but an number of regulars here speak about a Hauppage HD PVR.Have a good one,
