  1. hello,

i have a Blackmagic Design intensity (not intensity pro). I use adobe premier pro CS 3 on Pc with windwos XP (SP2). I want to capture Xbox 360 video game footage from the HDMI port. I connect my TV HD from BM card.

I have the 1.8.2 software version of BM card

    Here is how it's conect
Xbox 360 -> PC (BM card)
    PC (BM card)-> HD TV

From media express (software from card) i don't see anything on computer but on HD TV i see video come from Xbox 360. So video record is blank on my PC.

    From Premiere pro same problem.

Xbox 360 is setup on 720p 50hz and on premiere pro i use the same setup.

I try with virtualdub but it's the same problem

So what can i do ? Help will be nice

    Thanks

note :I try to do from PS3 and then nothing on TV and on PC

  2. I thought the intensity pro doesn't decrypt the digital signal?

The BlackMagic Intensity dumps uncompressed video to the PCIe bus. The data rate exceeds what any single drive can handle. You need a RAID for uncompressed capture. They also supply software for MJPEG compression that can work realtime with fast CPUs. This would use the supplied BlackMagic codec driver.

The MJPeg codec is supplied by Black Magic with the card.

I hate to bump this topic, but I'm having the exact same problem. I'm not getting any preview in media express. I've set the correct input/output as well. The hdmi in isn't encrypted via HDCP. I was wondering if anyone could help me.

I don't have the card but you can monitor off the second HDMI port. Are you encoding to MJPEG or capturing uncompressed? Avid Media Express may or may not handle the BlackMagic MJPEG codec. Call either company for support.

I'm doing uncompressed. I'm using the blackmagic media express. This is so annoying.

I had the same issues of blank video but managed to find a fix on another site! The manual doesn't mention it but you have to go to the windows control panel because the driver install put an "Intensity" control panel item there that requires you to select the inputs and outputs.

Actually, my problem was a bad converter from HDMI->component (I refuse to use the intensity pro's component inputs). I switched my converter and now it works with 720p
