black and white picture on Window media player and power DVD

for some reason some time it work and some time it doesnt work. when i open video files the pictures show black and white. both window media player and power dvd does this. anyone know how to fix this? thanks

Sometimes only?
I was going to say that I you playback on a TV it's probably that it doesn't support S-VHS or that you're using the wrong cable.
But if it's on your computer monitor I have no idea.

i think i had something similar to your problem. for certain movies of mine, the colors are inverted and kinda look like they are light purple and white. this may or may not be what you have. to make to colors go back to normal, hit Ctrl+2 in windows media player. this will change the size of the viewing area but the colors won't be screwed up.
