Building a Low Power Desktop...with Laptop like power?

so basically to run a setup where a laptop or desktop can run off of battery/solar power...items need would be a battery(deep cycle preferably), a power inverter and a decent solar panel. No China Stuff.

I found this site that had a little pic setup at the bottom of the page that shows the basics on what will be needed, perfect for a novice to understand. It shows a diagram with a boat and RV but I think the idea is is the same.

You'll also need a charge controller. It help maintain your battery and keep it from overcharge. Overcharging will shorten your battery life. More info than your wanted to know on lead acid battery here:
