  1. In your screenshot where the 1st heading says "general", the 4th heading says "default sequence", i think that tab corresponds to sequence settings

  2. Ah ok. Here it is.

And because I need to mention it, I EXTREMELY appreciate the fast responses and advice and even encoding files to help look into this. Very much appreciated.

  3. I used PP 2.0 , but I skipped CS3... so not sure how it's supposed to work... it probably something really easy that we've overlooked...

When you right click the sequence in the clip bin, what are it's properties (i.e is it interlaced, or progressive) ?

  4. Here is the entire Properties:

    "File Path: G:\Xbox Captures\Captures\montage\bc2_009.avi
    Type: AVI Movie
    File Size: 2.1 GB
    Image Size: 1280 x 720
    Pixel Depth: 1280
    Frame Rate: 29.97
Source Audio Format: 48000 Hz - 16 bit - Stereo
Project Audio Format: 48000 Hz - 32 bit floating point - Stereo
    Total Duration: 00;03;56;00
Average Data Rate: 9.1 MB / second
    Pixel Aspect Ratio: 1.0

    AVI File Details:
    Contains 1 video track(s) and 1 audio track(s).
    Interleave: 1 : 1.00 (conforming required)

    Video Track 1:
Size is 2.11Gi bytes (average frame = 312.11Ki bytes)
    There are 7074 keyframes.
    Frame rate is: 29.9700 fps
    Frame size is: 1280 x 720
    Video format is 'MJPG' 422 8-bit ITU-R 709

    Audio Track 1:
    Size is: 43.23Mi bytes
    Rate is: 48000 samples/sec

I am not seeing anything about interlacing or progressive.

  5. Instead of using "blackmagic" for editing settings, start a new project and use "desktop" mode or custom settings for 1280x720 29.97 progressive. Hopefully that will bypass that header problem

  6. Hey I think that did it. However, it look like if I paste over my clips, sounds, titles and so on into this new project it brings the problem with. It doesnt affect the newly added clips I made in this new project though. That would suggest some setting with my clips maybe?

Do you mean using "desktop" settings instead of using the blackmagic preset?

I didn't understand what you were trying to say about other clips and so forth... can you clarify

  8. Sorry. I made a new project with "desktop" and selected 1280x720, progressive, 29.97 etc. I brought in one of my 29.97 source files into the clip bin and then took it from there and put it in the timeline. In the preview window I can immediately see it doesn't suffer from my issue. Well, I still have my entire original project copied to my clip board and pasted it into this new desktop project. The preview shows my original clips still being messed up. I then had the project render one of the original clips and it produced this preview that I attached a pic of.

It looks as if it was completely tossing a field out and just doubling/blending the one field!

  9. Either way, it appears that blackmagic template is the culprit. It seems to be interpreting....its own format incorrectly. I suppose for now I will just use the work around I happened upon and for future projects I will use a custom template. Typically I use custom but I was really happy to see such integrated support for my capture card and its format but apparently it's not working out as well as I would have liked.

  10. I just noticed something with my original full video render I initially did. When I had clips fast forward suddenly the missing field comes back? Here are 3 clips. Pay attention to the bottom left green names again. First clip is normal speed with the issue being obvious, the second clip is where I sped up time (using the speed/duration function) to get to the next important clip which is issue free, and then the 3rd clip back at normal speed with the issue back. This is with all the progressive settings as they should be and no workaround. This would maybe make sense if the normal speed frames were flickering and the speeding process blended the fields or something like that. Really strange.
