I am having a problem, Adobe Premiere (cs3) created some 0k size files (project glitch). The actual files that these project files went to are gone, but I absolutely cannot delete these from my D drive. I did try "check disc" (inc bad sectors), defrag, safe mode, command prompt, etc with no luck
if I right click and try to delete or rename them I get this message:
"cannot delete file: cannot read from source file or disc"
again these were never here till about a day ago when I was messing around with Premiere. I did try to open them in Premiere and it let me know they were damaged project files.
Two of them are in the root of my D: drive (partition off of C drive) and the other is in an actual video folder and I cannot delete the folder because one of those project files is inside it.
A pic of two of the files and folder are below
can anyone help me out in getting the "Sequence 01., Sequence 09. and the prowler folder deleted"

I found a solution.
One posting, a guy gave a link to a piece of software to try out.
this was called "unlocker" and can be found here
http://ccollomb.free.fr/unlocker/
I installed this (take note to uncheck the ebay assitant box upon install) and what you do is right click on the problem file/folder and choose the "unlock". In my case the program told me that the file was not locked, however it could still help me out by choosing an action from it's drop down box. I selected delete and the file is now gone!
No idea why this screw up from premiere stayed on the pc to begin with and did not disappear, but if any of you ever have a similar issue unocker worked fine and it is free- -
Did you look at the attributes? Maybe the files were marked read only, system, or hidden?

Yes I did check the attributes, nothing special about them at all, they were not marked as read only, system or hidden
it was pretty much as if windows was saying "these files are already deleted yet for some reason their footprint remains"
It was some screwed up glitch and I wish unlock would give a log file so I can see what/how it was seeing these files (as in attributes).
I also opened up one in notepad (boefre I finally was able to delete them) to see if it showed anything and of course it was blank, so I typed some text in hope of being able to do something but no luck (it would not save the file) -
Here's another method that I use. . .
I have found similar problems of locked files too. One clue lead me to resorting shutting down the app or suite that created the file. Sometimes these apps "lock" the file as if "in use" or something. Then, I delete the file. I find this mostly when i'm capturing or editing video, using virtualdub for instance.
But sometimes the file is stubern. So, I have to shut down explorer completely, by ctrl-Alt-del and select explorer, right-click it, and select "end process tree" and this will close down everything desktop related.
Then, I proceed to: File\New task (run.. )\explorer and hit OK to reload the explorer.
Then, I find the file and delete it. And if that doesn't work, I open a dos window and delete it that way.
