I'm thinking of getting this camcorder.

Sanyo VPC-CG10 HD Flash Memory Camcorder w/5x Optical Zoom (Black)

    http://www.amazon.com/Sanyo-VPC-CG10-Memory-Camcorder-Optical/dp/B001Q3M8S2/ref=sr_1_1...8411731&sr=8-1

Sanyo Xacti VPC-CG10 10MP HD Flash Camcorder (Red)

    http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3558934

I do not want to re-encode the MOV files to another format to edit, encoding the files to another format is another step plus extra time to encode.

    Thanks.

No, you won't find these cameras on Adobe's support list. Even if they were AVCHD format, they would edit sluggishly even on a quad core.

H.264 really needs conversion to a digital intermediate.

1080p 30 has half the motion samples and not enough better image resolution because of the cheap optics. Consider 1080p 30 only for tripod stabilized landscapes.

The Sanyo only does 720p 30 which is fairly useless except for shooting material for the web.

Vegas Pro can edit 1280x720p 59.94. I doubt Vegas Movie Studio will.

The problem with most of these small cameras is they don't allow enough bit rate for h.264 1280x720p/60. The Kodak z18 spec isn't clear on bit rate short of downloading the manual. Be aware that desirable 24 Mb/s gets you into Level 4-6 flash media.
