Which format for panasonic viera TV

I have Panasonic LCD TV TX-L32U10E. It has SDHC slot for displaying images and to play video. I browse internet for 3 days and didn't find any information for the supported codec. The only information about was mentioned AVCHD and H.264 codec with mpeg4 and mts ot m2ts formats. I downloaded trial converter and convert trailer in ts (H.264 HD codec) and mp4, but when move SD card in the TV it says: "no recognizable files" or something...

I didn't find any converter to make mts file to test it. As I understand this files are available from Sony or Canon cameras.

My question is is it possible to convert avi (xvid or divx) file to any supportable format, and then watch it on my TV?

You can make avchd m2ts using avchd coder and multiavchd.

But I guess you have just tried avi xvid/divx files and they don't work at all?

Yes, I try xvid/divx and they don't work. I readed somewhere that panasonic support team mention that they will support divx in later products.

I will try to convert m2ts file with avchd coder, and will post the result.

Check panasonics website for your tv. There is a chance they have a converter utility that will convert videos for your exact format.

I checked. There is no information for the supported format. Only in the manual is mentioned dvb-t (mpeg2 and mpeg4-avc(H.264)) support.

I am downloading baldrick's links and will try other formats.

I believe all Panasonic TV's and BD players only support AVCHD from a camcorder, my BD35 and BD60 have a SD slot and that's what the manual says.

I have a Panasonic TV and used and got fed up converting files. So I now use a Western Digital Media Player box.

It just plugs into any TV and plays most file formats from an external hard-drive or sd card slotted into a card reader. The device has 2 USB slots and works a treat to plug anything into it.

I dropped the Panasonic SD card slot as limited gimmick and love the WDMedia Player.

I also drop the sd card slot. Too much noise for nothing. Suddently I have no usb. But have 2 hdmi... When Panasonic start to support divx, things will be great

That is not true, since I figured it out and for the last year multiAVCHD is the only free tool which can create the proper output for SDHC both in Viera and Panasonic BDP players (along with the SD_VIDEO MPEG2 format).

That is not true, since I figured it out and for the last year multiAVCHD is the only free tool which can create the proper output for SDHC both in Viera and Panasonic BDP players (along with the SD_VIDEO MPEG2 format).

The only way is to transcode the DivX/XviD AVI file to H.264/AVC. And the only tool that will allow you to put the correct structure on a SDHC card is multiAVCHD. Simply put there is no other tool for that.

I do not understand... I followed the steps and i am not able to play AVCHD (.mts) file on my TX-L32u2E. Do i need to put the file in some special folder (as is the case on sd audio players)? Is there something that i am missing here? like an extra step?

Like I said on an earlier post, the aggrovation is not worth it.... to me a failed panasonic sd system being non user friendly.

Using as I do a Western Digital Media Player box instead for the past 8 months, putting nearly any video onto a usb memory stick from a computer it can be put into my WDMP and viewed on my TV in a couple of minutes. Also video clips on a SD card without converting to AVCHD and be played straight away using a usb card reader put into my WDMP, which also has its own remote control as well.

Also the WDMP can be taken and plugged into any other persons tv in minutes to view anything on a usb memory stick, sd card with usb card reader or on my 250 gb hard drive.....

The best little user fiendly investment I have bought in years...no more converting video files or disc burning to view video from my computer onto my large home TV.........to me the Panasonic sd card slot......forget its not worth the time and efffort even trying to convert files to AVCHD with limited success.......I know I have tried and now no longer have to even bother anymore.

I do know that WDMP is like 100 times better than sd card slot, and i have laptop with broken hdmi port which i have to repair and a DVD player with usb port. but i just want to try and play something on that slot.. just to see that it is working. so far i tried to follow the exact structure of the AVCHD folder. I just wanna know how to play any video on that slot.. I was unsuccessful using multiAVCHD. I would like to know if someone has a newer panasonic camera to tell where and in which format are the movies saved.. Also i read somewhere that software used to edit and transport videos from panasonic camcorders is called HD writer ae 2.1 or 2.0 (depending on the year). How did you play videos earlier on the SD card slot? considering that you ever did.

Jimmi, I did use the multiAVCHD system of converting a few files with success, but was shown the WDMP bought by a friend. This rendered the panasonic folly of going through all the trouble of converting files to view on my tv with multiAVCHD POINTLESS.

Not now having to bother converting files to view on my tv with a WDMP, has got to be better than having to even consider going through endless time wasting file conversions when you do not have to.......

My WDMP makes watching video files the simplest way possible for me at the moment on any tv, what else can I say...... no disc burning or file conversioning...........I plug my 250gb hard drive into it and I have instant access to all my home movies and any other video files. also photos and music files..........

If you wish to use muitiAVCHD which does work with some effort, just follow the web site info...its not simple but with time and effort you may be lucky converting something to watch in the end as I did.....I can`t remember the exact points to convert to play it on an sd card in my panasonic tv as I gave up with it on seeing the WDMP perform my objective with so much ease.

Follow the mulitiAVCHD site info if you must ...it does work...and good luck.

BUT

Once converted, I get a Blu-Ray folder structure.

Is there any way to have the Viera TV (in my case, TC-P50GT25) read and play the whole thing as a Blu-Ray?
