I have just bought a Panasonic viera model number TH-42PX80BA. (2nd hand) and unfortunately have no user manual. I have learned I can record and playback tv programmes onto an SD card, unfortunately I don't know which type of SD card I would need. Can anybody advise me?
Tia.
Oh, I am not a technophobe but have limited knowledge re techno speak and am far from qualified to comment on technical issues.

Usually a SD high speed card. (SDHC) A card with a speed of class 6 is probably a good choice. This article may help: http://sdcard-speed-guide.articles.r-tt.com/
Have you checked with Panasonic for a quick start guide? It appears to be downloadable in PDF format from their UK site. http://tda.panasonic-europe-service.com/docs/2z4ecfbc98z3z278bcz656ez706466z23z7eacec0.../TQB0E0716.pdf
EDIT: A quick look at their guide and that SD card setup seems to be just for a photo slide show. But you should check further. If so, any speed card that works with your digital camera should be fine.
And welcome to our forums.Last edited by redwudz; 25th Nov 2011 at 10:18.

I did a search at Panasonic's UK website for your model number and it returned this link for the operating instructions: http://tda.panasonic-europe-service.com/docs/2z4ecfb8f4z3z278bcz656ez706466z23z130afc7.../TQB0E0716.pdf
If the link doesn't work here is one to get the manual http://www.panasonic.co.uk/html/en_GB/Support/Downloads/220239/index.html#anker_222458
The bad news is that according to the manual, this model can only view photos from an SD card. It can't use an SD card for viewing or recording video.
It would be a good idea to download the manual in case it is ever needed again. I prefer the pdf version of owners manuals since they are searchable using a computer.Last edited by usually_quiet; 25th Nov 2011 at 10:10. Reason: add correct links

Most name-brand manufacturers have support sites. A TH42BX80U manual is here:
http://service.us.panasonic.com/OPERMANPDF/TH42PX80U.PDF
For a UK model, you might want to check Panasonic's global website.Last edited by sanlyn; 21st Mar 2014 at 06:05.

Most name-brand manufacturers have support sites. The document download page for Panasonic UK is here:

They list your model number without the hyphen in the model name.Last edited by sanlyn; 21st Mar 2014 at 06:05.

Sorry, usually-quiet, didn't see that 2nd link. Too early after a holiday(?!). Haven't heard from the OP yet, so I guess all is well.

I was thinking that was a camcorder before I looked it up.
Probably for a slide show, just about any SD card would work. Maybe the SD cards can do video, but I didn't see that in the guide.
