VOB2MPEG Pro Language problem

I am very happy with this program this is the only problem I have come across. However on converting a dvd from disc with DVDdecrypter and using the files to make an MPEG. In the VOB2MPEG preview the lanuage is ok however in the MPEG it is I think Icelandic!!. I thought I must be stupid and chosen the wrong language stream but no. The language is always the other one, there are only 2 and never the English one that i want.
I am 99% sure I am not doing anything incorrect and as I say the preview language is correct.

DVDDecrypter is outdated software for ripping and won't work with many more recent DVD titles. Try DVD Fab HD Decrypter (the free bit) and see if you have more luck.

I'm having the same problem. I have a DVD that I need to edit just one 30 sec clip out of. I copied it to a folder on my PC using DVDDecrypter, then used VOB2MPG Pro to get the mpeg files. However, some of the files are in French or something.

I'd be happy to send you the logfile, if you can tell me where to find it!

Help->Open Logs folder.... you will find it in there.

Hehe - I tried it again last night, first using DVD Shrink - then running it thru VOB2MPEG. Apparently, I picked up the Title that had the commentary in it. THis is starting to crack me up. Anyway - here's the log from VOB2MPEG straight from the DVDDecrypter folder... I may have picked the multi-channel stream instead of the default, which is just stereo. I've done this so many times that I forget! I think this is how it looked.

Okay - more info. Choosing the default (as in the screenshot above) gave me some chapters in English, and some in French.?? I'll try again and pick English.

Same problem here. The English streams were preselected and the video preview plays the correct stream. But the output is German



You have to manually change each dropdown to the same option without the "DEF:" prefix to get the English stream in the output.

What are you playing the mpegs with?

Remember that when you have the DEF prefix - you are not touching the audio streams at all. You are outputting an mpeg with ALL the audio streams. Most players will play the stream with the lowest stream id (0x80 in this case). If you are using a player which does not do this then you must select the stream you wish to keep.

So a) what player are you using? and b) perhaps you can extract a single chapter and attach it (if its < 30MB) for analysis

That's helpful to know - wasn't clear from the interface.

Both Media Player Classic and VLC play the German stream by default when extracted as above, and Super uses it by default as well. The only sample chapters I can provide under 30MB are the opening and closing titles (music only) if those are ok.
