VOB2MPEG sound problem

Hi, I use VOB2MPEG to convert my VOBs in the VIDEO_TS to mpegs without problem. On the first try, the mpegs have no audio. After searching around, I installed the AC3 filter, convert again and the audio is back if I play the movie from the beginning. However, if I fast forward to the mpeg in WMP11 using the slide bar, the audio becomes static. I know this question was asked before, but I couldn't find the answer. Do I need to run asfbin to reindex or am I on the wrong track completely? Any info would be greatly appreciated

Does it work if you play with a better player like vlc?
