used the regular version of vob2mpeg and decided to upgrade to pro. Downloaded the new zip and tried to install and now it gives me a 'windows cannot complete the extraction' followed by 'the destination file could not be created' error everytime. I'm running windows 7 64 bit edition. Already tried uninstalling and reinstalling with no change, someone please tell me if I'm making a stupid mistake with installing this program.![]()

Are you extracting the files from the zip before you try the install?

So you have extracted the contents of the compressed folder as per: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Compress-and-uncompress-files-zip-files ?
If so can you "Right click-> Run as administrator" on the Setup.exe file?SVCD2DVD v2.5, AVI/MPEG/HDTV/AviSynth/h264->DVD, PAL->NTSC conversion.

Where have you extracted them to? Can you try extracting and running them from the root of your C drive?

-
Ok Can you open a command prompt and change directory to C:\users\(my name)\downloads
Then run the following command:
msiexec /i "VOB2MPG PRO Setup.msi" /l Install.log
Then can you attach the install.log file please?SVCD2DVD v2.5, AVI/MPEG/HDTV/AviSynth/h264->DVD, PAL->NTSC conversion.

ok, deleted the old zip file, re downloaded from the website and now when i try to extract the file it gives me 'Error 0x80004005: Unspecified error' and wont go any further. If i just click on the zip file it shows me the 2 files that i've always seen, setup and vob2mpg pro setup. If i try to run msiexec /i "VOB2MPG PRO Setup.msi" /l Install.log it says that the installation package could not be opened. verify that the package exists and that you can access it, or contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows Installer package.

ok so you have the zip file in there..... Can you EXTRACT the contents? Navigate to the compressed folder in Windows Explorer and click "Extract All files":
If you follow the default options you should have:
so you can try double clicking the "VOB2MPG PRO Setup.msi" file or if there is still an issue you can run the msiexec command again from the folder which now contains the "VOB2MPG PRO Setup.msi" file:
and attach the install.log fileSVCD2DVD v2.5, AVI/MPEG/HDTV/AviSynth/h264->DVD, PAL->NTSC conversion.

like before when i try to extract the files i get an unexpected error...Error 0x80004005: Un specified error and the options are try again, skip or cancel. when i run the command prompt line i also get an error just like last time. It is extracting or trying to in C:\Users\(my name)\VOB2MPGPRO. Either method gives me errors.
-
What happens if you skip the initial error?
Anyway i have PM'd you the MSI so you can get past the extraction and move straight to the msiexec stepSVCD2DVD v2.5, AVI/MPEG/HDTV/AviSynth/h264->DVD, PAL->NTSC conversion.

Mmm it seems that you have Error 1335.... Googling suggests this is possible a memory issue:
http://www.google.co.uk/search?num=100&hl=en&safe=off&q="Windows+Installer"+"Error+1335"+memory
http://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/704524-can-not-install-a-program-because-of-the-error-1335/
May i suggest you run Windows Memory Diagnostic tool in Windows 7:
- Click the Windows 7 Start button, type memory, and click on Windows Memory Diagnostic
- When the Windows Memory Diagnostic screen loads, click Restart now and check for problems
- You computer will restart
- The memory diagnostic will run and may take some time
- Windows will restart and report any errors to you

Ran the windows memory test, no errors. Ran the msiexec unregister/register idea on the forums, no different results. Tried safeboot options recommended by microsoft, still cant get this thing to load. Ran checkdisk on my main SSD, no errors. Honeslty this is the only program I have had issues loading since i built this pc, everything on here is less than 2 weeks old. I'm out of ideas,let me know if you have any others to try otherwise i'll see if i can get a refund, pro version isnt worth this much effort :/.
