    RONALDO ÜBER ALLES!
Brazil is a deserving champion. Germany is not crying. We are very proud of our mannschaft and we are very, very happy. Again, congratulation Brazil. See you 2006 in Germany.

Well done Brazil. For the first 20 minutes, it looked like it was going to be gridlock, but luckily it turned out to be a nice open game. My prediction of Brazil 3, Germany 1, was a bit off; but at least I got the goal difference right. I can't think of a more deserving team for the world cup to go to.

  3. Well - what an interesting game. Germany had the tactics *correct*, but Brazil eventually broke through with some uncharacteristic defensive/keeping errors. Once they were ahead, Brazil played with more style and got the second goal. The 2 goal advantage seemed to deflate Germany - who were worthy opponents if not finalists.
Excellent World Cup everyone: See ya in Germany 2006!
And who are the idiots voting "NO" in the poll? I expect some jealous North AMericans who happen to dislike this thread being near the top of the Off Topic board...

That was a great match. Germany should be proud to have gone as far as playing the best team in the world .
so now Brazil has the world cup and the record for most consecutive wins in a world cup

Phibes- what happened to the Brazillian flair?
Did you know why Brazil is the champion? That's my answer.

German players showed they are brave players. Played like a big team must play.

I've been out because my modem was with some problems. Now I'm back at the right time.

  7. Hey Phibes, i don't know what city you're in but i would have loved to see the streets of Rio after the game or the beaches at that. I don't know how it was over there, but over here (in Canada) if was pretty cool to see ppl in the streets with flags honking there horns or blowing their whistles (ok ok i was one of those )

That quote is from some time back - but I will admit that their second goal on Sunday was good. They did struggle against the tactics (1st half) of Germany though, don't you think?
Didn't you sense that it may even go to Extra Time and penalties? I did. But Brazil got the break, then they could close the game with a second goal.

Canadian people was commemorating the brazilian title?

I live in Belo Horizonte. It's the third bigger city of the country. Like you've said, a lot of people in the streets, party's everywhere, loud music (rock, techno, brazilian rhythms.... ), thousand of brazilian flags....
That happend all over the country and no major problem was noticed. Very very cool.
My sister said that the plane with the players will fly only 500 meters above ground while it crosses one of the bigger avenues of São Paulo. I don't know if she is right. Tuesday I will know.

I don't know Ember. We had at least 5 good chances to score at first half. 3 with Ronaldo and 2 with Kleberson.

Didn't you sense that it may even go to Extra Time and penalties? I did.
I was a little nervous because the goal was not coming and Germany knows how to defend. They were there because nobody could make goals on them. They took only one goal from Ireland, but again, the 3 R's (Ronaldo, Rivaldo and Ronaldinho), made the difference.

Do you understand? Inter acquired Vieri for U$ 50 million. How many players in this cup are better than him? Ronaldo, Rivaldo, Ronaldinho, Owen, Zidane, Hasan Sas, Raul, Diouf...
