The quality of the video from my Panasonic PV-GS 320 is great, but my videos seem to have a lot of small horizontal lines. My settings on MPEGStreamclip are :
    - Interlaced Scaling
    - Unscaled Resolution
    - Sound remains uncompressed
    - %100 Quality
    - Upper Field First

What can I do to get rid of these so my video looks smoother?

    Thanks.

To view on a computer monitor use VLC with deinterlace set to "mean" (free) or Cyberlink PowerDVD player set to "auto" (often packaged with DVD writers or computers).

There is no need to deinterlace the actual video. If you make a DVD, encode bottom field first at reasonable bit rate >6Mb/s. The DVD player will process the playback.

I'm confused here. I am already viewing it on a computer monitor. I'm simply trying to get rid of these lines. I'm not trying to make a DVD either.

So how can I get rid of these lines?

You view with a deinterlacing player as described. VLC or PowerDVD.
You probably got a version of Power DVD with your DVD writer or DVD ROM drive.

Thanks for clarifying, but it is like that even with VLC. The appearance is no different than Quicktime.

Can you post a frame grab from VLC?
    1 play file
2 make a cap during motion --> under video hit Snapshot
3 find the file in MyDocuments - Pictures

    Post here

    Experiment with
    - discard (drops a field)
    - linear (a good default)
    - mean (low motion resolution)
    - blend (blurs fields)
    - bob (interpolates 60p by line repeat)
    - X (interpolates 60p - interpolated frames)

    Set Deinterlace default method here
