I grabbed these posts from a less than positive thread so that others may join in on a more positive note.

When I joined, it was still vcdhelp, and just starting with the dvdhelp redirect.
I guess now we wait and see whether it will be HDhelp or BluRayhelp next

I didn't make any posts for about a year after joining. I spent most of my time reading, experimenting, and learning. Eventually I felt I knew enough to attempt to help others and started posting. It was quite some time later that I "discovered" Off-Line and the wonderful participants therein.

    Yep, me too.

Remember when the OTPostWhore club was founded - "will post for food"? OT used to be fun back then - Capmaster, Jeex, Gmatov, defense, Will Hay to name but a few who used to post but no longer do.

Anyone remember Jeex's story of getting the teller arrested when tried to buy a pack of smokes?
    Regards,

Oh yes. I had a DVD rom then and had bought a 6x cd burner just before Christmas for about $300. Lurked for many months and then finally took the plunge and joined up.

    Remember the KVCD phase?

Everyone was trying to squeeze the most onto a vcd. In the pre-CSS hack world, we used player emulation type extractors and smoothed the sh!t out of the video to get it to fit on one disc. How many times did someone type in the topic title: "Please Help!!!!" and the topic was: My video is too big, how can I fit an 800mb vcd on a 700mb cd disc? It doesn't make sense?

Count me among the people willing to test/review your product. I am a bit more intrigued.

Since my first post, I've noticed that there has been MUCH more content added to your page. I had not noticed the forum link before (was it always there?) Companies often charge for add-ons to programs that they didn't write (plug ins for Photoshop, Premier, etc.), so I suppose charging for a front-end isn't out of the question. The only thing is that I'll have to "wait and see" since there's no demo.

Good luck with your program. My only suggestion about feedback is to not respond to every single comment. For some of the more redundant/insulting ones you may want to create a form letter ("Dear sir, thank you for your interest in DVD Stripper. While we value your opinion, go to hell.") If you wait and let the flood subside, you may actually start seeing constructive criticism.

p.s. IIRC you were my number 1 DS fan weren't you? :P

I've been here quite a long time. Don't post much, just lost interested in posting mostly the same answers to the same questions. But I visit usually a few times a day.

Still have quite a few (S)VCD. I don't plan on ever getting rid of them. Took forever to process with my Pentium 200 PRO .

Remember first seeing an actual link to the site while reading a news group, which this site was quite found of back in the day with the different rar and par tutitorals available. Even found links to certain vcd quality sites, and iso news sites.

Those were the good 'ol days, paying $802 for a Pioneer DVR-A03 and ~$20 each for some TDK blank DVDs. I still have the very first DVD Video I ever authored on the Pioneer Disc that came with the drive. It is Scenes from a Bar starring Kobe Tai :P captured from VHS with a Pinnacle DC10. Even have some of the elcheapo Princos I used for software and data backup from mid 2001. Hard to believe the Princos have lasted but every single Ritek G03 has expired

    Same here.......
Those 1X elcheapo Princos cost me $2.00 each, and that was when they were on sale...

    a Pioneer DVR-A03
Got one of those too. I didn't pay as much as you did. I think I paid around $400.00
Then I got the A04 for around $250.00 and was thinking that it is really cheap for a burner...

The first CD burner I had cost about $250 (Wearnes - anyone else everheard of them?). It was a 2x burner and blanks were about $8 each...

Remember the first dual format (+R/-R) DVD writer - the Sony DRU-500? This board was practically on fire with the expectation of its release. I paid £280 (approx $560) for one five years ago.

It's gathering dust on the shelf now...
