In a nutshell, there is a Sony Vaio laptop going on steep sale tomorrow, but its one of those get there at 4AM deals, add in the hour's rural driving with lake effect snow and its problematic...![]()
The store isn't clearly listing which model Sony it will be, but it has a 120 GB HD, 1 GB RAM, & a DVD burner. The closest Vaio I could find to this has a T2310 dual core Intel 1.46 w/533 FSB. It is going for under $500. Vista/XP isn't mentioned
Trying to find adequate reviews, they're hard to come by, anybody got some solid opinions? 8)

whatcha gonna do with it?
I'll be sound asleep at 4am dreaming of new video productions -
Staples has a Compaq notebook with T2310 CPU, 15" wide screen and 80GB hard drive for $349 (AR) plus free printer (AR).
T2310 is a Pentium Mobile Dual Core (1.46 GHz each). A 1.46GHz Pentium is slow but apps that use dual core lift power close to a Pentium 2.8GHz level. It should do OK as a basic laptop but is not at Core2 level for video apps.

There are some good Core2 Duo laptops out there $>499
