Requesting good and easier mixing applications

Im a audio editing amateur that has comed as far as splitting and joining to this date now i want to take next step in editing sound-files

Offcorse i want to create my own bizzar mixes from mutiple soundfiles too!
i want to have a song in the background that plays the whole time, and then just import various sound files above that song, play over eatchother, and can replace certain parts with new sounds, and a volume setting to either lower ore increase the background sound sepparateley lol

im sure you know what i mean basicly

so the question is..is there any software that can achieve this withouh being for extreme proffesionals!!!!!!!

im thinking on the level "Easy video to audio converter" but with some moore advanced goodies

sure...you need an audio editor to get the audio the way you wish
audacity is free and recommended...get the latest version

The free version of ACID by Sony is really good. Free version is limited to 8 tracks.

There really isn't anything easier to start you off with loops and sounds
