Trying to update my driver I get a "Available Target is not found"
I don't know how to tell if the DVDs are PAL or not I have used DVD-RW 4x from Staples item # 6363134 and Philips DVD+R 16x that I got at RadioShack neither of these have ever worked. This is my first time doing trying to do this, so no it has never played a burned DVD. CDs work though if that helps lol.

Why don't you copy an original DVD and burn to one of your discs, see if that works. If it works then it isn't your discs.

Hey I got it to work with an original copy. Do you think there is something wrong with this iso that I have I have tried other ISOs and I still have the same problem though. This ISO has these files in it. "video_ts.info, video_ts.VOB, video_ts.BUP, VTS_01_0.INFO then a the rest are VOB with the last one being a BUP. Do I need to do something to these files?

Ok, mount your ISO using Daemon Tools, then open one of the VOB files from the ISO with Gspot, what does it say in the middle box on the right next to Frms/sec?

Delete the .LAY file(s) and re-burn it.

I alsso have another iso though with the vob files but I can't see the box that you have on the pic there on my Gspot. When I go to open an Image on DVD Shink I get this error "Dvd Shrink encountered an error and cannot continue" "Failed to Open" I don't know why.

Right, so it's PAL. Does your DVD player play the PAL format?

Well the manual says "Progressive Video Output with 3-2 Pulldown (for NTSC only)

PAL/NTSC Playback of any DVD or VCD (To play PAL movies you need a PAL TV or a Video converter.)

Plays any region DVD movie from the World from codes 1-6

    Plays RCE/REA movies also

    Plays DVD, V-CD, MP3, CD-R, CD-R/W, DVD-R, DVD-RW, DVD+R, DVD+RW

Region selection is automatic and manually adjustable by remote"

  20. Lets start from the beginning:
    1.Where did you get the ISO/files from(ie DVD,download,etc)?
2.Use GSpot or AVICodec to see what the properties are,if 25fps/720x576 then you will have to convert to NTSC or get a multisystem DVD player.
3.After you author did you get a folder named VIDEO_TS and is it <4,460MB?
4.If DVDShrink chokes on the ISO/files then there's something wrong with the structure and you might try FixVTS.

    1-From an ISO
    2-Yes it is
3-Yes it is 25fps/720x576 ------- what will be if it is in NTSC format?

What do you use to convert to NTSC?

This indicates that your player outputs a PAL signal which your TV doesn't like.

Right, your DVD player plays PAL, so we can rule that out. Have you actually tried deleting the .LAY file(s) and burning it again? Do you have any friends that have a PAL compatible tv? Take your disc to their house and try it.

  24. My only guess is that I saw Optodisc media somewhere in there. My Pioneer literally pukes when I put an Optodisc DVD blank in it. Very, very infrequently do I get a successful burn with one. Try some Ty media instead, better media.

As I said earlier, "according to the Sony eSupport Knowledge Base, your dvd player can't play PAL". If you go to this page at sony.com, it says:
SonyŽ DVD players and recorders sold in the United States support the NTSC video format standard and region 1 discs. They are not able to play or record discs in the PAL or SECAM video format standard or any other region codes.
If you download the Operating Instructions for the DVP-NS725P, on page 6 it says:
Also, the player cannot play the following discs:...A disk recorded in a color system other than NTSC, such as PAL...
