RMVB file burn to NTSC DVD question

I have an RMVB file that's 512x384 and I want to burn it to NTSC DVD using WinAVI Video Converter. I selected "NTSC" but the bottom portion of the video gets cropped off along with the hardcoded subtitles.

Sakuya, this is the Mac forum. You might have better luck finding an answer (software-specific) in the general Conversion forums (though the moderators would know better than I).

You mean when you watch it on TV? If so, then you are seeing overscan -- televisions always draw the picture larger than the actual visible part of the display. Your subtiles are located too close to the bottom of the frame. What you have to do is encode the video with a black border around the edges so that the border is hidden by overscan, not the edge of the picture. There are many threads here on this issue. Search for Overscan, Subtitles, FitCD...
