Sorry people for the hassle, I could not find how to delete this entry. I have managed to go one step further. So I might not need further help. I will post an addition if I have solved my problem.
Sorry again.
I am a complete newbie to dv to dvd. I recorded content with a dv camcorder and have edited it. I have rendered the output to an avi file. Now when I use svcd2dvd I run into audio sync problems. I have found a form audio/video out of sync. I have read and tried the software suggested in the solution. When I try, I endup with audio and no video output in an mpeg2 format. All I would like to end up with is a dvd with a menu that is in sync. Please someone guide me out of my misery.
Thanks in advance.
Lawrence

Islamp:
Are you mostly interested in preserving video files to SVCD or DVD? There is a difference between the two, in regards to which files record onto which media, and with which compression. Any .avi must be converted to a recognisable DVD format (as Mpeg2), to play in set-top DVD players.
Try these: https://www.videohelp.com/guides.php?howtoselect=4;62#4;62
Hope this helps you... -
If you don't have hardware that locks the audio and video during capture, it might be wise to capture just the video with the first pass, then capture the audio, and join the two in an editing app. This is if you have already tried all other solutions. There is a recent article at www.maximumpc.com, which explains exactly how to do this using nothing more than windows movie maker software. Although, I would not recommend that for high quality results. If you are a casual user, then this would be fine. If you are a power user, I suggest you read some of the comparisons, and reviews at www.videoguys.com.Originally Posted by lslampRob
