  1. I have Vegas, and virtual dubmod. Do either of those have the functionallity to record a clip in reverse. I am wanting to edit a video that will move the same frames back and forth.

    Thanks

    Avisynth can do that!
    Try:

    Reverse(clip clip)

This filter makes a clip play in reverse. This is useful for watching people walk backwards while listening to hidden satanic messages.

Vegas can do this. Drop the clip on the timeline, add a velocity envelope, then drag the speed down until the clip plays backwards

  7. region/selection these items are interchangeable in this instance. When you highlight a selection in the timeline, you can then do particular edits of that.

YOu can in that selection, make it a region by typing R on the keyboard. green markers will be placed at start and end points, or you could press S and it will split that selection from other areas. Or you could use the context menu and select "create subclip", which will copy that region to a new file, but still keep the same position in the timeline. Creating subclip means that edits are done only on that portion without the need to use the original file.

    hope this helps.

  8. Call me an all out NOOB, but am I using the right version? 4.0 is what I am using and I cant find an option for create or subclip. Can copy and then paste at the end of the set of frames work? From there, where can I find the reverse option. Hope I am not trying your patience.

In premiere (for those that would like to know using Premiere) right click on the video on the timeline... select speed/duration, check the box that says reverse speed and wah lah.. done deal!

  12. its pretty much the same in vegas. But sometimes, you have a whole clip that you don't want reversed, so its best to do it correct steps from beginning on a selection.

I would use the razor tool to cut the in and out points and just reverse the part I want, or speed up or slow down etc.. etc..
