Loss of frames when playing mkv/mp4 etc

Im having some issues with playing HD material. Ive set up a more than capable pc with hdmi to my tv.
Ive tried diffrent software,players and codecs but the problem still lingers.

In movies when theres fast movement there seems to be a loss of frames almost, it gets choppy, but plays just fine during "normal" camera movement and scenes with little or no action.

Any ideas ?

ive tried k lite,shark007,MP classic,vlc. Im unsure if boxee has any codecs with it but im primarily using that to play movies.

Try also kmplayer and potplayer.

BUT please give more info about your computer, cpu and graphics card.

win7,intel dualcore 6600 2.4, 3gb, ati radeon hd 4550 512 ddr2

ive tried all of those, im suspecting that theres some setting somewhere im missing
