I'm using Nero as a burning program, and using a DVD burner from Asus(can burn Double Layer DVDs, not sure about the speed though)

When I try to burn my movie, which is about 2 hours in length, I cannot make it fit into 1 DVD5 (4.7GB) it seems to be taking around 6GB for just 2hr movie, that's just weird to me...I never thought a movie couldnt fit into 1 DVD

However, the weird thing is I borrow my frined's DVD, it's about 2hr and 10 minutes movie, and yet the size is only 4.1GB!!! That's weird...how could he have the movie fit into DVD with like 2hr in length!!

I'm completely lost here and I absolutely have NO IDEA what is the solution to this problem, if you could tell me that would be great. Also if I need any program for this that would be great too.

    Thanks in advanced.

This is actually no big mystery.
There are 2 factors that determine how big a DVD video file will be - how long in time it is, and what bitrate it is encoded at. DVD specification has an upper limit at ~9800 kbps, but no lower limit. Going as low as 1000 kbps, about 8 hours can fit on a DVD. At 9800 kbps around 1 hour.
Crude tools like Nero hides such arcane stuff like bitrate from the poor user, leaving him/her totally bewildered. So, while you haven't stated what format your movie is in, I'm sure there are many many guides on how to properly convert it to a format (and size) suitable for a Video DVD to be found under Convert left.

You need to adjust the bitrate. Lower bitrates produce smaller files but at a lower quality. If your using a resolution of 720x480 you can go as low as 4000 before you will start to see significant macroblocking, after that you can use a lower resolution with an even lower bitrate.

Realistically without seriously compromising the quality you can use VCD quality video and get about 6 hours on a DVD, this of course will not look nearly as good as the high bitrate/high resolution video.

    Thanks alot.

I actually get a brief idea how I can only put in 1.5 hours, not a big deal I could make it a bit less quality for 2 hours in 1 DVD

    Again, thank you!

EDIT: I just try using the DVD Shrink, and I think it could only shrink the size of the movie for DVD... is it possible to shrink the movie format in computer? (avi/mpg/etc...)

DVDShrink is for DVD. For mpeg (mpeg 2 video, m2v) there's ReJig that works on the same principle as DVDShrink, but on pure mpeg2 video files instead DVD.
AVI's has to be reencoded @ a lower bitrate to reduce its size.

Sorry, but that give me another question... what program is used to reencode the AVI file so I could get a lower bitrate?
