I just bought my 1st dvd burner and I am wondering about his popup that came up in DVD Decrypter.
What does this mean. I live in Canada and I didn't know I had to set the region code for my DVD burner in DVD Decrypter. I know this is dumb but would it matter if I set a region or not. Also I don't see Region 0 anywhere. Any reasons why?

most DVD rom, burners and players have set region codes and will check the DVD that you are trying to play/rip has the same region code. So a region 1 player will play region 1 DVDs but not region 2 or 4. Region 0 means that is region free which means it doesn't matter. There are region free DVDs and players., as for rom/burners you can go to the following site to update your firmware on you DVD Rom/burner to make region free.

So then I should set my dvd burner to whatever country/region I am in so this doesn't pop up everytime?

Yes. This will restrict the playing of DVD's to those of the selected region, but ripping of DVD's of any region will still be possible.Originally Posted by werty316There are 10 kinds of people in this world. Those that understand binary...
